Shapefiles: upload a .zip containing the .shp/.shx/.dbf/.prj set (recommended — the .prj lets GridHawk reproject to WGS84). A lone .shp also works but assumes it's already in lat/lon.
Loading a mission onto the DJI RC 2 (one-time read)
DJI Fly has no import button, so you overwrite a placeholder:
1. On the RC 2, create any throwaway waypoint mission (one waypoint is enough) and save it. 2. Connect the RC 2 to your computer with the front USB-C port, power it on, and browse to Android/data/dji.go.v5/files/waypoint/. The newest GUID-named folder is your placeholder. Not sure which is which? The waypoint/map_preview folders hold a JPEG thumbnail of each mission, named with the same GUID. 3. Paste that GUID into the field above — GridHawk names the export to match, so you drop it straight over the placeholder file. No renaming. 4. Open the mission in DJI Fly, pan to the mission area, and re-save once so the thumbnail updates.
Backup route: if USB browsing ever fails, copy the KMZ to a microSD card, insert it in the RC 2, swipe down and open the file explorer, and do the replace on the controller itself.
Which GUID is which? GridHawk stores your Mission name inside every export, and DJI Fly shows it once loaded — so the mission reads "north-quarter", not a GUID. The map_preview folder also holds a GUID-named thumbnail per mission. For split bundles, MANIFEST.csv lists every file with its name, waypoints, minutes, and start point — open it in Excel to see the whole set at a glance.
Split bundles: with Auto-split on, export gives you a single .zip of numbered part-01, part-02… missions plus the manifest. Copy each part onto its own placeholder folder, in order.
Keep missions under ~150 waypoints — the RC 2 is a low-power device and DJI Fly can crash loading big files on it. Auto-split keeps every part safely under this.
Standalone script:GridHawk-AutoDeploy.ps1 automates steps 2–3 over USB — plug in the RC 2 and it copies your newest export into the placeholder folder.
